Harry and Meghan Join Aboriginal Walking Tour in Melbourne

Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, engaged in a cultural heritage experience during their visit to Melbourne, Australia. They joined the Scar Tree Walk, an Aboriginal walking tour that provided insights into First Nations Australians' history and connection to the land. Led by Indigenous guides, the couple walked along the Birrarung, the traditional name for Melbourne's Yarra River, learning about its significance for fishing and hunting by traditional owners. The tour, which began at the Koorie Heritage Trust, also saw the couple interact with a Marngrook, a traditional possum fur ball believed to be the origin of the Australian Rules Football's oval ball. This visit follows Prince Harry's participation in an AFL lesson the previous day. Local residents and visitors expressed excitement at meeting the couple, with some noting their appreciation for Harry and Meghan's continued public engagement as private citizens. The couple's last visit to Australia was in 2018.
