Husband of US woman missing in Bahamas released, says he will keep looking

Brian Hooker was released on Monday night after being arrested on April 8 and questioned by Bahamian police regarding the disappearance of his wife, Lynette Hooker. The couple, from Michigan, were sailing on an 8ft dinghy when Lynette went missing on the evening of April 4. Brian Hooker stated his wife fell from the boat with its keys and was swept away, leaving him unable to reach her. He denies any wrongdoing.
Lynette Hooker's daughter, Karli Aylesworth, has expressed skepticism about her stepfather's account, noting her mother was a strong swimmer with extensive sailing experience. A US Coast Guard official confirmed a criminal investigation has been opened into the woman's disappearance. While search and rescue efforts have transitioned to a recovery mission, Brian Hooker expressed his belief that his wife could still be alive, citing instances of people surviving for days or weeks after falling overboard in the Bahamas.
