King not meeting Epstein survivors, but state visit could help ease US-UK tensions

Buckingham Palace sources confirmed that King Charles and Queen Camilla's upcoming state visit to the US, scheduled for April 27-30, will not include meetings with survivors of Jeffrey Epstein. This decision comes despite calls from US Congressman Ro Khanna and others for such meetings, with Palace sources stating it could jeopardize ongoing legal proceedings.
Queen Camilla, a long-standing advocate against domestic abuse, is slated to meet with representatives of relevant groups during the visit. The trip is also intended to navigate "choppy diplomatic waters" between the UK and US, with officials hoping the King can play a unique role in reinforcing the long-standing alliance. The visit will mark the 250th anniversary of US independence, celebrating a partnership of "shared prosperity, security and history."
