Maguire gets extra ban and will miss Chelsea trip

Harry Maguire, 33, was dismissed in the 78th minute of the Bournemouth match for pulling down an opponent in the box, conceding a penalty. As he left the pitch, he was alleged to have shouted, "You're a joke. You're all a ******* joke" to the fourth official. While Maguire denied directing the words at any specific official, he acknowledged his actions were inappropriate and apologized.
The regulatory commission considered a two-match suspension but settled on one additional match, taking into account mitigating factors including Maguire's acceptance of the charge. This suspension adds to Manchester United's defensive challenges, as centre-back Lisandro Martinez is also unavailable for the Chelsea game due to his own red card for violent conduct in a recent match against Leeds.
