Nine killed in second Turkish school shooting in two days

At least eight students and one teacher were killed, and 13 others were wounded, with six in critical condition, following a shooting at Ayser Calik Secondary School in the Kahramanmaras area of southern Turkey. Interior Minister Mustafa Cifci confirmed the fatalities, adding that the attacker was also killed during the incident. This tragedy follows another school shooting just a day prior, where an ex-student opened fire at a high school, injuring 16 people before taking his own life. Turkish media reported that the attacker in Wednesday's incident, believed to be a teenager, entered two classrooms armed with five guns and seven magazines, which local governor Mukerren Unluer alleged belonged to his ex-police officer father. The motive for the attack remains unknown, and authorities have launched an investigation. Witnesses described intense gunfire and panic outside the school, with emergency services responding to the scene.
