Police Probe Islamist Group's Arson Attack Claims in London

Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya, an Islamist group, posted videos on social media claiming responsibility for three attacks in north London. This comes after an attempted arson attack on Wednesday at the offices of Volant Media, parent company of Persian news channel Iran International, in Wembley. Police reported an ignited container was thrown towards the building, but the fire quickly extinguished without damage or injuries. Officers pursued a black SUV, leading to the arrest of a 16-year-old boy and two men aged 19 and 21 on suspicion of arson endangering life.
The Wembley incident follows an attempted arson at a synagogue in Finchley and a previous arson attack on four ambulances belonging to a Jewish charity in Golders Green. Deputy Commissioner Matt Jukes stated that while these incidents are not yet declared terrorism, Counter Terrorism Policing is leading the investigations due to the nature of the locations and similarities between the offenses. Jukes also issued a strong warning against individuals being "persuaded or paid" to commit crimes on behalf of foreign organizations or states, emphasizing that such actions will face severe consequences.
