UK Asylum System: Advisers Help Migrants Fake Gay Identity for Claims

The BBC's undercover investigation revealed instances where immigration advisers offered to assist migrants in creating fake cover stories and obtaining fabricated evidence. A BBC reporter, posing as a former student seeking to remain in the UK, met with an adviser named Tanisa Khan. Khan allegedly offered to provide evidence to support a false claim that the reporter was gay, for a fee.Migrants whose visas are nearing expiration are reportedly being instructed on how to secure fabricated evidence, including supporting letters, photographs, and medical reports. They then apply for asylum, claiming to be gay and expressing fear for their lives if they were to return to countries like Pakistan or Bangladesh. In response to these findings, the UK Home Office issued a statement. They emphasized that individuals caught attempting to exploit the asylum system will be subject to the full extent of the law, which includes potential removal from the United Kingdom.
